These terms apply to WebRemodel’s free previews, website plans and one-time redesigns. They are written in plain language and are the agreement between you and us. If anything is unclear, send us a message before you start a plan.
1. Who we are
WebRemodel is a trade name of Bioinformatix LLC (“WebRemodel”, “we”, “us”). We redesign, host and maintain websites for small businesses. “You” means the business that uses our services and the person who accepts these terms on its behalf; that person confirms they are authorized to do so. You accept these terms when you approve a preview, start a plan or pay for a redesign.
2. Free previews
We may prepare a redesigned version of your website on our own initiative, using information your business has already made public on its website and in public business listings, and show it to you as a private preview.
Previews are free. You owe nothing unless you start a plan or order a redesign.
Because a preview is built from public information, some details may be out of date. After you pick a plan, we review every detail with you on a call and correct it before launch.
A preview stays online for 14 days unless we agree to extend it.
Previews are private. They are hidden from search engines and shared only with you. If you are not interested, tell us and we take the preview down.
A preview is a proposal. Until you start a plan or pay for a redesign, it remains our property and may not be copied or published.
3. Plans and billing
We offer the plans described on our pricing page, currently Starter and Growth, billed monthly or yearly. What each plan includes is listed there. Your price does not change while your plan is active unless we give you at least 30 days’ notice by email.
Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period and is charged to the payment method on file until you cancel.
You can change plans at any time from your billing page. A change takes effect immediately, and the price difference is applied to your next invoice. Changing plans before your first payment does not bring that payment forward.
Prices are in US dollars. Where sales tax applies, we add it and show it on your invoice.
Receipts and invoices are emailed to you and remain available on your billing page.
A “small update” means a change to text, a photo, prices, hours or one existing section. Starter includes one small update a month; extra small updates are $25 each. Growth includes $100 of updates every month, counted at the prices on our pricing page; unused updates and unused value do not carry over to the next month. A new page is $75. Larger work, such as a new feature, a new design or a second language, is quoted at a fixed price first. We charge extras to your payment method on file only after you approve the price.
4. $0 upfront and the 30-day guarantee
Before you choose a plan, you can book a short call with us to go over your preview and the changes you want. When you approve your preview and pick a plan, you accept these Terms and add a payment method through Stripe. Nothing is charged that day.
Your first payment is due 30 days after your site goes live. You pay nothing before then.
If you cancel before your first payment, nothing is charged and you owe nothing.
We email you a reminder 7 days before your first payment.
The guarantee covers your plan fees. If you cancel and want the site files, section 5 applies.
When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the period you have paid for and then ends. You are not charged again.
Monthly payments already made are not refunded. For yearly plans, cancel within 30 days of a yearly payment and we refund that payment in full; after 30 days, unused months are not refunded. A billing error on our side is refunded in full.
When your plan ends, we give you at least 14 days’ notice by email before removing your site from our hosting. After that date your domain no longer points to the site; pointing it elsewhere is your responsibility. We never change your domain’s email settings.
Site files. Your design is priced at $990, and every plan payment counts toward it. If you want your site’s files when you leave, they cost $990 less the total you have paid us; once your payments reach $990, they are free. That is 35 monthly payments on Starter or 10 on Growth. For example, after three months of Growth ($297 paid) the files cost $693. We deliver them as a single archive to the email address you name.
Setting the site up with another host is not included. We can quote it as separate work.
We keep a copy of your site for 30 days after it is removed, then delete it. Your domain and your content remain yours regardless of what you have paid.
6. One-time redesign
If you prefer to own your site from the start, the design costs $990, paid once or in three monthly payments of $330. We launch it on your hosting or deliver the files, and set up your domain and redirects.
If you choose three payments, all three are due even if you stop using the site. The files become yours to use when the final payment is made.
Hosting and maintenance for a purchased design are available on our care plan at $19 a month, on the same terms as our other plans.
7. Your domain
Your domain name always belongs to you. If you already have one, we connect it.
If you do not have one, you can register it yourself (we send you the steps), or we register it for you for a one-time fee of $49. We register it in your name, with you as the owner and your email on the registration, from the first day.
The $49 fee includes the first year of a standard name (.com, .net, .org, .co or .us); other names are quoted first. From the second year the registrar bills you directly for renewals. The fee is not refundable once the domain is registered, because the domain exists and belongs to you. Email on your domain is not included.
With your permission, we connect your domain to your site and set up its security certificate and redirects.
Nothing about your domain changes hands if you leave.
8. Your content and our work
Your content remains yours: your business name, logo, text, photos, prices and reviews. You grant us permission to use it to build, host and update your site and listings.
Our work: while your plan is active, you may use the design and site files we created for your business. Once you have paid at least $990 in total, or a one-time redesign in full, you may continue to use them indefinitely, including after you leave. Our tools, templates and methods remain ours, and we may reuse general design approaches for other clients, never your content.
We show your business in our portfolio only with your permission, and remove it on request.
People who work on your site for us, such as designers and developers, see only what they need for your site and are bound by confidentiality.
9. What we promise, and what we do not
We keep your site running and secure, keep a copy of every version, and fix problems promptly. No host can guarantee uninterrupted service; we tell you about any significant outage.
We make updates within the time stated for your plan: within a week on Starter, and within 2 business days on Growth.
We build your site to the WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines and keep our templates to that standard. Content you ask us to add later is yours to check.
On Starter we set up your Google Business Profile with you in your first month and connect one ordering, booking, quote or payment account to your site. On Growth we keep your Google listing up to date, help with reviews, and connect every such account you use. You remain the owner of your Google listing and of every account. We cannot promise a particular search ranking or a number of calls or reviews; those depend on Google and on your customers.
Ordering, booking, quote and payment tools, such as Square, Toast, DoorDash, OpenTable, Calendly and Stripe, are the provider’s services, held in your name and subject to their fees. We connect them and fix anything on our side; their operation, pricing and availability are the provider’s responsibility.
We never write or buy reviews, and we never post anything in your name without your approval.
10. Your responsibilities
Tell us when something changes, and confirm that the facts on your site (hours, prices, licenses, menus, claims) are correct.
Send us only content you have the right to use: your own photos or licensed images, and photos of people, including children at a day care or school, only with their consent or their parents’.
You are responsible for the rules of your trade that apply to your site, such as license numbers, brokerage disclosures or allergen notices. We add them on request.
Do not use your site for anything illegal, misleading or harmful. If you do, we may take it down.
11. Missed payments
If a payment fails, Stripe retries your card over about two weeks and emails you so you can update it. If payment still fails, your plan is paused: we email you, and until it is paid the site may go offline. Your domain and content remain yours, and the plan resumes when payment goes through. We cancel a paused plan only after telling you by email.
12. Liability
We provide our services with care, but otherwise “as is” and without further warranties, to the extent the law allows.
We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, arising from downtime, errors or third-party services such as Google, your domain registrar or Stripe.
Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits a right that the law does not allow us to limit.
13. General
We may update these terms. If a change affects you, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you do not agree, you may cancel before then.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. We will try to resolve any dispute by discussion first; failing that, the courts of Montgomery County, Maryland have jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest remains in effect.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information.
